Steering you through Rugby’s history going back more than 2,000 years. What is the story behind the school cap? How does the spark plug fit in with the heritage of Rugby? What was life like for Roman residents?

As you walk through the museum, you can share the enthusiasm of the Victorian antiquarian Matthew Bloxam, who began to unravel the mysteries of Roman Tripontium. Tripontium was a small Roman town situated approximately four miles east of Rugby and four miles west of Lutterworth. The name means ‘place of three bridges’. The exhibition gives you a chance to learn about daily life in Roman Britain through the remarkable Tripontium Collection of Roman artefacts including 2000 year old pottery, jewellery and coins.

In the Social History Gallery, reflect on the ups and downs of Rugby at work, at home and in the community over the past 200 years.
